Earlier this morning in Dallas, the American Library Association (ALA) announced the 2012 Youth Media Award Winners–celebrating both literary and artistic expressions in top books, videos and audiobooks for children and young adults. More famously, these awards included the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery and Printz awards. Past winners share titles like Where The Wild Things Are (Caldecott 1964), The Polar Express (Caldecott 1986), The Giver (Printz 1994) and Shiloh (Printz 1992). It’s always really important and interesting to see which books are on the current market for the future brains of America, while also being happy and thankful that well, there still are books!
