Well…verdict’s in! According to several news reports including The Washington Post,  it seems that at 7:25 this morning, the little Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Groundhog Phil emerged from his lair to “see” his shadow, and thus predict six more weeks of Winter. Whether you hate it or love it, skeptics agree that maybe this year it won’t be so bad! Across the country, as many of you have noticed, temperatures have been an upwards of 20 to 30 degrees warmer than this time last year. Whatever. I still can’t believe it’s already February. IT’S LIKE????!??!?

Have any of you seen the trailer for the movie, Chronicle? It’s a new movie about three high schoolers that gain super powers and their struggle to keep from using their powers for the wrong reasons.

The marketing team behind the movie built three life-size RC planes shaped like human beings and flew them around New York City to portray the three characters from the movie. Needless to say, this is beyond awesome. Check out the video by clicking here (via This Is Colossal).

Imagine what it was like for all of the New Yorkers that had no idea what was going on! What a crazy promo! Love it!

Unconventional and engaging art education is how our designers got so good at what they do. Using logic, we find that awesome videos teaching the basic principles of art (such as the one to the left by OK Go and Sesame Street) eventually lead to awesome designs (such as this one). We’re more than happy to let you in on how it works. That’s just how we do it over here in Awesometown.

This past weekend was Playtime Paris, the international Trade Show dedicated to all things children. Secret obsession of mine: children’s fashion and accessories. Everything looks cuter, smaller. Swoon! While dolls may be sort of outdated, I recently stumbled upon this woman who makes them hand-made, and well, they look more charming than creepy. In honor of Playtime Paris, I thought I’d share. Meet Jess Brown, a doll-maker in Petaluma, California, who vowed every year to give her new daughter a homemade gift for Christmas, beginning with her first present–a rag doll fashioned after an antique French one. 13 years later, Brown has an international following, and was even recently commissioned to make human-sized mannequins for Bottega Veneta. Schwing! Many of the dolls are accessorized to the customer’s specifications. Expensive, but worth it. You can check them out here.
